THE LOBBY

Here you see a photograph of comet Hale-Bopp and a gravity well to the left, the donor wall and a bench donated by Bell Memorials and Granite Works to the far right, and elements scale and solar system scale in the middle.

The murals were painted by Lynette Cook in July 2002.

DONOR WALL

The donor wall displays the names of the people who have contributed generously to the construction and operation of the Downing Planetarium.

SUNDIAL

In the middle of the front wall is a slit of dark glass and a piece of transparent circular glass. This functions as a sundial.

See the bright spot on the floor?
